A very wise man once told me that creative people are actually the luckiest kind of sales people in the business world, because we get to sit in a nice comfortable place and create ideas that help our clients sell more of their products or services than we ever could going door to door.

The operational phrase in that whole mini parable is "sales people". It's something I have always believed that I was, and as a result, I have always wanted to have a quantifiable idea of how the work I did actually performed.
